Diversity Is Key To Our Growth and Success 

Achieving success at marketing in a world of emerging markets and rapidly-changing consumer demographics presents a challenge that requires us to continuously improve the ways we think about and relate to people and cultures.

Octagon is meeting that challenge with a strong commitment to diversity – one that recognizes and promotes the differences among our employees.  Octagon defines “diversity” as the recognition, understanding and acceptance of individual differences which account for the makeup of an individual’s personality and identity.

We are the recognized global thought-leader in passion-based, sports & entertainment marketing and talent representation.  One of the reasons we will stay in the lead is our bias for developing, encouraging and promoting diversity and inclusion throughout our organization.  This translates into providing an inclusive workplace environment where all employees feel welcomed, respected, supported and valued as team members.  We provide all employees with the resources, information and access to opportunities within our organization necessary for them to build strong relationships.  We also work hard to ensure that all employees remain engaged with and connected to our company’s goals and objectives.   

Octagon’s parent company, The Interpublic Group (IPG), shares our strong commitment to inclusion and has provided leadership by proactively seeking out diverse talent and business partners, appreciating new and different points of view and striving to achieve an inclusive work environment.

Octagon employees are invited to participate in IPG’s Multicultural Employee Resource Groups for Excellence (MERGE), resource groups for employees who identify with specific affinity communities. These cross-agency, employee-driven groups identify with or have an affinity to a particular dimension of diversity. MERGE’s groups currently include:

  • Black Employee Network
  • Asian Heritage Group
  • SOMOS - Hispanic Heritage Network
  • IPG GLBT

In addition, Octagon actively supports IPG’s Women’s Leadership Network (WLN), a resource group dedicated to promoting the recruitment, retention and advancement of women. 

Octagon joins IPG in pledging to support additional business resource groups that develop organically.
