Passion, Engagement, Results™

Research

For too long our industry has operated on instinct and intuition. Faced with new marketing realities and ever-changing consumer attitudes and behaviors, we decided that "gut" wasn't good enough.

To meet the challenge, we formed an in-house research department and brought in an expert to run it. On a day-to-day basis, Octagon's research team keeps our account teams and our clients informed of marketplace trends, and provides insights necessary to keep our thinking relevant and leading edge. Our research expertise allows us to develop customized measurement models so our clients can maximize return on their sponsorship objectives.

The results have given us and our clients a competitive edge that only comes with superior knowledge.

About a year ago, our research team began a landmark probe into understanding why sports fans are fans. If we could learn what passions drive fans to love sports, we could finally build a fully-dimensionalized model of the sports fan as consumer and be better able to differentiate our sponsorship leveraging programs.

The end result is Octagon Passion Drivers™, a groundbreaking study into more than a dozen sports on four continents and our industry's first detailed analysis that quantifies the primary drivers of fan passion.

The findings from this breakthrough research are changing the way our clients activate in the sports space.
